Proud dad (/mum/grandad/uncle/whatever) moments

Aww, what else are you gonna spend your money on that will have a lasting benefit like that

I’m mostly joking.

You’re only a 19yo art student in London once, and there’s no better investment than education, but all the same, muh watch budget :smiling_face_with_tear:

Slightly disappointed it wasn’t about sweetcorn presentation in the margins for Tench.

Sugar rush. Once the dopamine hit fades you’ll just want another one!

She’d likely become good at that too. She was out catching me! :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Coarse angling - a true renaissance woman !

I was going to say “Now she’ll just need to avoid being distracted by boys (or girls, or whatever)” but there are good catches to be had at uni too.

Congratulations to her, by the way !

What goes in the other cm² of boot space, or is the tuba case being filled with clothes?

I do have a matching Dacia Duster roof box, almost nothing else won’t fit in that :+1::grinning_face:.

Cheers dude.

Well done all the clever Abattoir youths!

In other news, FoL#1 Ellie has done a complete volte face, deciding she can’t move to Tokyo because she feels she’d be pretty isolated (her bloke doing the salaryman working hours for one thing , and she’s struggling learning Japanese) and would miss us and her friends too much. So she’s broken off her engagement, cancelled her flat hunting trip over there (£1800 non-refundable flights… :grimacing:) and completely screwed my excuses to go record shopping and and ramen guzzling.

I can’t really argue with her reasoning, but I overheard some of her phone call to Fuga and it was absolutely heartbreaking.

She’s just had an interview with the RSPCA, which went fairly well. I expect if she gets it there’ll be a constant stream of high dependency foster animals making their way chez 998…

If the RSPCA thing doesn’t come off she’s applied for a job at Claire’s college in the Animal Management dept, where she did her BTEC, which would probably end up with her being a lecturer eventually. In the meantime she’s landed a job at a really cool bar, so I can, at last, stop her pocket money!

FoL#2 Lauren is a couple of months into the second year of her Agricultural Engineering apprenticeship and is happy as a happy thing spannering on tractors and combines etc. When she finishes her apprenticeship she’ll be on nearly the same money as Claire (ie way more than me).

So hopefully we’re well on the way to empty nest by the time we retire in about 5 years or so!
