Pursuing olfactory perfection

No question there is an alchemy when you blend smells, and the results are unpredictable - for instance add @Jim to a roomful of curry fumes, sweaty socks and wet dog afterglow, and the results are so much worse than the individual constituents that it makes Jupiter look breathable… But yeah, just trying to suggest a jumping-off point really, narrow the field a bit.

I’ll have you know I’m always perusing olfactory perfection! :mask:

I accept a bottle of aftershave or two for Xmas and/or birthday and this is my olfactory perfection sorted for the year without any stress whatsoever.

I have a similar approach to shopping for clothes. When I need new clothes it is either Xmas or my birthday. If it is not Xmas or my birthday I don’t need new clothes.

Bet you copied that from the thread title because you can’t spell guff.

I’m a bit of a fragrance fan myself and I have a few staples:

Penhaligons - opus 1870
Penhaligons - sartorial
Truefittt & Hill - sandalwood
Alvarez Gomez - agua de Colonia
Taylor of old Bond Street - mr Taylor

But I always have a few more lying in the background from penhaligons and truefitt.

Most days I wear the sandalwood, it’s fresh, clean, masculine and has a quality finish to it, not overly synthetic, it’s also proven to be one of the most popular in my romantic endeavours  this is the fragrance I always replace when it runs out.

Opus is a bit of a special occasion fragrance for me and generally Moreso at winter as it has quite an earthy spice note to it.

Sartorial I tend to wear if I’m hitting work in a full suit for a change

The others just go on as mood dictates

Thought I’d give this a try and everyone was asking about it and saying they loved it. Good shit.

A single pheromone apparently.
