Shellac surely. They developed vinyl to reduce the amount of noise!

Oops sorry
Arrived last week… Now have to find the time to make a copy onto new tape stock as well as a 192/24 digital archive.
Dream album tape.
A friend of mine has been given a pair of machines which he wants to sell to support this charity https://bttt.org.uk/.
One’s an Akai GX220 and the other’s a Revox A77. He says both seem to be in good condition. They fired up first time and played tapes without any signs of trouble (he hasn’t tried recording anything). He’ll put them on eBay if he absolutely has to but he’s reluctant given the difficulty of shipping heavy delicate objects and the ‘issues’ that some buyers present.
Since it’s a charity he’s keen to make a decent price but, I think, doesn’t need to squeeze every last penny out of them. Can anyone suggest the best way forward ? If it matters he’s based just outside the M25 to the west of London.
Do you know what MK the A77 is?
I don’t but I’ll ask him. Does it make a big difference ?
In terms of value the MKIII holds the most weight
He’s pretty sure it’s a Mk 1 - in good condition and unrestored.
I’d usually sell for £250 ish if it’s clean and running more.
Thanks Matt, I’ve let him know. Maybe he’ll have to try eBay with a ‘collection only’ constraint.
A slightly better vid visual wise.
He looks like he has lost it with the stuff he has, even in the filing cabinet.
off to this man
Has some great music as well
Well worth a visit to his channel, think he is in Russia
The Rexox is an F36 perhaps - The Bass cab is a Western Electric TA-7331 Which should have an 18" driver - YTman’s looks more like a 15" ? The large horn to the WE’s left is bugging me, it’s kind of Altec. The amps etc are a mixed bag of DIY and other vintage that I can’t work out which also buggs me.
