Flew from UK to Jomo Kenyatta airport, Nairobi, then on to Zanzibar.
8 hour stop over at Yomo K airport on way back, was shambolic to say the least.
But Zanzibar more than made up for it.
I think Qatar go from Birmingham as well. Had one night in Stonetown. That was nice too. Stayed at the Coffee House. Will find pics.

Stayed here for one night. Right in the centre of the old bit.
Then stayed here for 5 nights.
We got a guide to take us around Stonetown as it can seem a bit mad. Pretty safe, but a bit mad.
This guy is very good.
Will pick you up at the airport too. The hotel will also pick you up at the airport and probably not tell you this. Our travel agent arranged a hotel transfer too without telling us. Seemed we had 3 people waiting at the airport. We went with the first guy we saw, who was a little bit smelly.

Not cheap, but bloody brilliant. Had one of the rooms with a little private skinny dipping pool in front of it. Bloody freezing it was. But sometimes you have just got to get yer cock out and jump in a cold puddle.

First week stayed at a small cheapo near you, cant recall the name.
Chose Zbar for the diving/snorkelling which didnt disappoint.
Went on a deep dive with a local guide & saw the biggest effing shark.
But all the dive sites were epic. Must go back b4 get too bloody old for it.

There are lions and stuff. Just wandering around. They just eat some of the other animals now and then.

Stayed at Hemmingways Hotel, donkeys years ago, due south of Somalian border.
Office in hotel offered trips to Massai Mara by air for 3 night safari, dirt cheap maybe 400-500 quid each if memory serves.
Was migration time so all the lions were fast asleep chock full of Wildebeest.
I’d love to go back to kenya or tanzania and do this again. Probably go self drive for shits n giggs.
