coconut oil is worth the effort, it adds something to dishes that ask for it

do you use it in Chettinad chicken? I was thinking of making that next week and I saw it mentioned that coconut oil can (should?) be used

sold :stuck_out_tongue:

Might do Chole Bhature at the weekend

I’ve seen a few recipes that don’t use yeast, but I fancy using yeast- purely because our fancy new Miele oven has a proving function :stuck_out_tongue:

They look nice :+1: I normally use courgette when lauki is asked for.

Isn’t “dry curry” an oxymoron?

in its truest sense of the meaning of the word i guess yes.

But the word is used interchangeably - in India I have had loads of veg things referred to as a dry curry. Carrot fry, something i cook regularly i refer to it as a dry curry.

I know…I do it myself :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s an article on it in The Indian Pantry book I think :stuck_out_tongue:

I made potato onion poha for lunch and used coconut oil- it was very nice.

Have you posted the recipe you use for Chettinad chicken before? Is it a rick stein one?

Apparently Sichuan peppercorns are used in some south indian fish curries. I ordered some with nothing particular in mind, but looking forward to trying that.
