Just a note for the diary at this stage, I have booked us in as usual (first weekend after the schools go back) in '26.

I’ll see - the 5th Sept is S’s birthday…
Someone was asking at the weekend whether a woman had ever attended either Lopwell or Settle. We thought not (perhaps @stu 's daughter once brought Patch to Lopwell for an hour or so, but neither of them stayed long ?). So here’s the perfect* opportunity for a birthday surprise !
*Maybe not the usual definition of ‘perfect’.
I’m up for 2026
Sadly, my last (first) chance to get up to Settle will not be possible.
We permanently leave the UK a week later. Too much to do and too many people to see.
I haz the sad.

Perfect I can be back for Joanne and Zacs birthday…
Now just need a solution to the mattress comfort and we’re cooking on gas.
I might be able to bring some large open baffle speakers with matching subs if it’ll all fit in the car.

I remember a fleeting visit from a Jack Russell wielding female at Lopwell a few years ago? There’s obviously the Brownie cat burglars too.
FoL#1 Ellie asked if she could come to Settle a couple of years back, and I couldn’t actually envisage a situation she’d hate more than a load of us lot doing our thing. It might have been round the time she asked for help with a survey thingy that I posted up here, and she was impressed with the antecedents of the respondents.
FoL#2 Lauren would actually fit in quite well tbh.
If ladies went I think Kate would join in.
But she would want to know there were several female attendees and they are welcome

Ha , well spotted that must be the plan. With luck by Settle they wil be squirred in the new house.
How you going to get the Mrs there Andy? Bolt her a chair to the roof of the car like an extended wing walk? All the space inside the cars needed for panels isn’t it?

Most of 'em are only too glad to be shot of us for a feet-up weekend of white wine and godawful telly - certainly Sam made that abundantly clear!

Any meat men with wives that have experience with explosives should not attend.
Correctly so. However women should be welcomed if they are prepared to do the cooking and washing up.

I might have to hire something. Whilst having her in the back and panels vertically stowed is quite workable for me, doubtless she would voice some sort of concern. Likewise strapping her to the roof won’t fly
