Shiny brand new second hand things in my system today V1.2

 Naturally, I’m still using various foo fuses as I want to ensure the best possible sound quality.

Everyone should try Lowther type things. They do some stuff incredibly well. They are a stepping stone to the real big stuff!

This is what makes me want to try this route and if funds permit in future I can try something else and still be able to swap back. To just get them up and running will be something though and I’ll be happy with that for a long while I’m sure.

Cashed in my ‘It’s Christmas so I can review what the fuck I want’ AVForums chit for this;

Vertere MG-1, Tempo motor drive, SG-PTA arm and Mystic cart.

I am pleased to say that after 20 minutes, I do not regret this decision.

You knows you want one.

I’m already painfully aware how much I want one. Tiresome Porsche analogy; I love the Xerxes but, if the Xerxes is a 1995 993 RS, this is a 2021 992 GT3 Touring. It’s recognisably the same thing, with the same design criteria but better (and, like the Porsches, there would be space in a perfect world to own both).

Is that tonearm a whizz-bang version of the old Nima? It looks very similar to the old Naim Aro. Bloody good tonearms those Roksan unipivots.

Yes, it works on exactly the same principle. There are two versions and ironically, I have both here at the moment.

The one on the MG-1 is the standard version (£2k), the one on the Gyro is the posh one with titanium headshell and some foo in it (£3.5k). If you’ve fitted and set a Nima, these are exactly the same just more substantial.

For the bedroom

partnered with @stu’s old Graphite Q Acoustics 2010i’s.

Sounds surprisingly decent :slightly_smiling_face:

The matching cassette deck is in my system.

With many thanks to @freefallrob and @Mrs_Maureen_OPinion I’ve finally got these for nephew’s Christmas present.

Giving them a listen and they’re really bloody good :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Add a Nait 5i, Exposure 3010 or Sonneteer integrated, and he’ll have a system for life :ok_hand:

Nice present. I am sure he’ll appreciate them.

That’s really helpful as I’m pretty sure his current Sony integrated isn’t going to get the best out of the Neats - they sound great with my Pass driving them.

I’m going to loan him my Pioneer Z series amps to play with as I don’t have a use for them at the moment.

2nd on a nait or even the old school exposure x

Old skule Exposure would be nice, but they seem pretty spendy nowadays :ok_hand:

Seem to be lots of 2010s around cheaply.

Not checked on the prices for years.
I had a x with the mystiques, think I paid £200 around 2007.
Also used a nait 1 2 and 5 to good effect.

I used Neats with an Inca Tech Claymore integrated and it was great.
