A little larger than mine though Jim!
Size isnât everything Mike, itâs the way you use it
amazed that a sub is needed with 4x 18" woofers, would have thought that even those back loaded scoops should go down to 40Hz with very little roll off?
4X15"
And they drop off higher than you would think, and fairly quickly.
Are they 15" if that SVS has a 16" those woofers look bigger
They are 15" and fall off fairly quickly at 80hz.
Phew!
Optical illusion, the GPA bass drivers in the Gotos have big surrounds, whereas the surround in the SVS is minimal.
Also moved some artwork around to cover the ugly wall mounted skybox, sockets and wires where the previous owners had a telly.
Is preamp toe-in a thing?
Haha, the remote doesnât work quite so well if the pre isnât angled slightly towards the listening position
Turns out it is a thing after all!
First world sweet-spot problems
The M7 will cure you of that sort of thing
Hopefully but not looking too good so far. I was really hopeful that the combo of Daveâs Coco built SIT and M7 would be the end-game amp. Unfortunately, with the SIT and M7 both having a lot of gain and the Goto horns being very sensitive, it was all too noisy/hummy and the volume control position for normal listening was about 5mm off the start position
The SITs and M7 are currently back with Pete to figure it out
Interesting to see what you find Jim - I have an interesting sub incoming to my system next weekâŚ
Good luck.
How were the SIT with the Preda?
Better than the M7, but still noisy. This was reduced by connecting a temp wire from the outer sheath of the SITâs input to the chassis.
Also the sub didnât work with the M7 (driven from the M7âs spare outputs) . Pete says this is likely due to than impedance mismatch between the M7 and sub.
The sub has been working very well connected to the Predaâs spare outputs.
