Tops and mids are exquisite Allan 
, Bass is being ‘controlled’ by some of that thin open foam type packaging rolled up in the ports 
Yes, but that still looks like an alpair/mark audio driver and frugal horns have been mentioned, and then there was the fostex things.

So the same issue as the others - that’s disappointing. I actually used them with a sub as I never found them to be bass heavy but clearly my room is very different to yours.
If you want to just return them it’s no problem.

I’m going to try and make them work for a bit Allan, as everything else is as good, if not better, than anything else I have heard in my room.
Have you ever measured your room, sorted room treatment accordingly?
