Yes, they give it a more soleful sound.
I’ll have to loafer round and not be a heel about it
Hush Puppies to dampen the whine?
Sandals with socks a great English tradition
Ideal source for a pair of Leak Sandwiches.
Definitely not shiny or brand new. Out with the Winter amps
The dog has been displaced to make way for the Summer amp
Note the Alephs were left close to hand in case the Plinius was not ok after hibernating over the winter. All of these amps weigh a feckin’ tonne.
Definitely working. If I could ever find another SA-50 Mark III in black there is a fair old chance the Alephs would be out the door. After a couple of hours playing and warming up it is surprising how different the presentation, particularly in the bass, is. I’m dying to try a pair of the SA-50 IIIs in bridged mode.

Is there a big difference between the running temps on the Plinius versus the Pass?
Yes. The Plinius gets warm in Class A mode. The Alephs get hot and there are two of them. I can run the Plinius in Class A/B mode and it runs cool. I’m afraid pure Class A just sounds nicer.
It will be outlawed by the carbon emissions brigade soon. Enjoy while you can.
They are welcome to try to remove it. Ziggy the dog likes Class A as it keeps him lovely and warm. He is likely to go into Attack mode in the face of such efforts.
I was surprised how much I liked the Plinius integrated amp I had, and that wasn’t even one of the Class A monsters.
Definitely a brand I’d like to try again if I ever get the chance.
In a pointless attempt to stem the rising tide of nerves over tonight’s football, I decided to distract myself with tonearm faff
Voyd 0.5 Ref with FR64s, Orsonic 101b and AN IO 1
… and back to the fibhorns
Hate this fucking game.
You need to sort some front loaded horns. 15" open baffle bass, 2" compression driver and tweeter. Sorted.
What geometry is that?
The armboard is cut for 230mm, a bit shorter than the other one I have, and it’s been easier to align.
It is obvious it has a character compared to the fx, v lively midrange. Needs more faff before I make any real decisions
AA membership requirement.
You be mad boy !
My room is little bigger than a shoe box. Even 5" drivers over drive the bass in the room.
At the moment I have the Usher S520’s back in and the bass is close but they sound shut in after the fibhorns and the M1i’s.
I think a Muso is the only feckin’ way forward.
Getting really really really bored with it now.
Maybe 12". Open baffle works very differently from boxes. It’ll be fine.
