My 15" ones were fine in a room that’s about 10’ square, what size is yours?
About 9’ x 8’ with a 6’ sloped roof.

I’ll have to sell on some that I have before I head off up a different blind alley.
A couple of weeks ago, I had 3 sets of speakers, 2 of which I could have lived with and now I have 5, 1 of which is OK !!
I wouldn’t mind but the more I listen to, the more I realise strengths in some, weaknesses in others, making me dissatisfied with what I previously liked.

Which alignment? I can’t recall ever having to mount an Io that far forward.
Full range open baffle 8” is where it’s at. With ribbon tweeter. And lab subs.

I once had a room that was about 8ftx6ft and ended up giving up with speakers and got a nice Stax energiser headphone setup.
Maybe some high quality smallish active studio monitors might be worth investigating.
The thing is, no bass is just not an option. It’s not hifi. Is the problem the size of the room or its construction? I think that even a small room can be ok as long as it hasn’t got resonances all over the place.
I agree that no bass isn’t an option.
The room is a mare but I have had reasonable bass in it.
Equally, if not more important, to me, is an open, accurate, well defined soundstage.
I’m close with the Transmission Audios. Have a friend round at the moment who looked at the copious position versus bass notes I have taken and suggested trying different materials for the port bung.
Believe it or not, that is slowly dialling it in.
Room treatment is well worth looking at if you can get the room measured properly to see where things are going bandy. My office is one of the worst rooms I have ever known (Suspended ceiling) weird nodey ceiling angles, bouncy floor, shit partition wall - basically pick an issue. The treatment that went in addressed a great deal - It will always be a shit room but £ for sound is was the best money I’ve spent on Hifi.

Mate, decent studio near field monitors, offboard crossovers and DSP. Or cans.
Actually chaps, after arsing about with port bung length, materials etc I think I may have cracked it

Ed’s speakers are excellent, everywhere I’ve heard them they have sounded really good regardless of the room big or small.
