Probably more how they have chosen to master/transfer it. Most reissues are horrible no matter what resolution it is.
This is the rub, a well recorded LP that also has the Amazon Ultra treatment seems hit and miss. A number of the Amazon Ultra LP’s are notoriously shit sounding in any format. The Muddy Waters Folk singer LP for example which is a great sounding recording they have only bothered to ‘Ultra’ x6 tracks out of 14…Whats with the half a job? I want Ultra everything - Fuck you Amazon.
Made me chuckle. You are right I know…
Just googled ‘horn shops near me’.
My hero
Yep
Probably the closest.
Banned by whom?! I want them…
I see Gove is on the piss again
I doubt Amazon are doing anything. The high resolution copies will be whatever the record company send them, and we have no idea what the provenance of those are unless some waveform analysis is carried out.
On top of that there is the evidence that 24/96 and above formats have the potential to sound worse because of the poor ultrasonic distortion profile of most hifi equipment.
Don’t do it, kids.
You are Keith and I claim my £5.00
That’s probably why most reviewers prefer it
We do?
You do
I- singular- have all manner of weird and wacky stuff kicking about but reviewers in general only move away from 16/44.1 when their editor threatens them.
Fucking pissing myself here
And here
