To be fair, I don’t think I’d heard a valve amplifier when I was 15…

get this bloke to stand in the room and they’ll look tiny

Not new to me but not been with me for a few months. Glad to have her back. Thanks to @Valvebloke for bringing her back to tip top form. Might be a late night now we are reunited :grinning:

PS thanks for amp loans from Wayne and Mark to keep me going while she was away for a service.

The fridges seem quite sensible to me. But then MrsKettle has said that ESLs have sufficient WAF to actually be liked.

Oh lucky man!!!

They sounded rather nice when I used them at Carnage in 2006, I was gutted I missed this year as I specifically wanted to here the big boys

I have the :+1: for a white pair  so maybe one day

Damn, that’s impressive. The Wench took one look at a pair of 2805s and said they looked like tombstones.

To be fair, they were here before she was so there has probably been a degree of acclimatisation.

It’s continued improving, quite substantially actually. I like it a lot (especially for the money).

Vocal / folk is now sounding good.

I’ll try some pseudo balanced cables on it sometime (I only have a single ended pre).

Not yet in my system, but demoed a pair of s/h Guru QM10 today at MEX, very impressed. I am sure a few of you know John, he was very accommodating, even of my funk-biased music selection.
They compared pretty well to the some Sonus Faber Olympica 1, which are pushing the budget somewhat. Lovely looking and sounding SF though…

Think I preferred the sound of both compared to the Dynaudio Special Forty I tried yesterday.

Would like to try some older SF before I commit perhaps.

I’ve had this for 6 years but resisted the urge to plug it in because digital, computer allergy.

Currently pissing about with Amazon HD a soulless experience but curiously in tune with my inner sloth. The sound for the most part is quite passable whilst tinkering about at work. I will be playing banned Ultra HD binaural tones whilst napping today.

Strangely its sounds pretty good doesn’t it?

Theta beats :headphones:

Currently listening to some U.H.D Muddy Waters. It does sound impressive a little clinical, but I’m enjoying it all the same.

Agree with that , it can be a bit ‘hifi’ sounding.
