Yep, first pic is my listening position. The soundstage is now huge which I think is more to do with the room than the distance from the speakers. I have the speakers toed so they cross about 2ft in front of me and that seems to give the best soundstage, don’t feel I need to be any closer, if anything I’d like to be further away still.
The biggest difference now is that at low volumes the sound fills the room whereas in the old house the bass seemed to boom and I had to crank it up a bit to get any detail or clarity.
I’ve noticed a lot of differences in quality of sound from phones though. My LG G3 was much better than the Pixel. Although now I have Bluetooth headphones, so I guess it’s all gone away.
New to me, a bit of a departure from my usual speaker faff…

A pair of Larsen 4.2s. Designed to work up against the rear wall or in corners. I have been looking into these over the past couple of years but a pair never came up locally or at the right time.
Certainly very different to the Rega R9s or the Supravox Open Baffles, I like that they are pretty fit and forget and un-obtrusive.
