Shiny brand new second hand things in my system today

Heard them a few times at shows
Think there is a connection to the 70s sonab speakers

image

I used to have a pair of those, back in about 1978?? Not bad.

Yes, I believe the designer of the Larsen speakers worked with the designer of the Sonab speakers.

Have a pair of those, don’t know if they work - £70 to the AA coffers.

I had both Sonab OA5 ( as above) and also the even better carlsson cube -With a 6w amp it filled the room
with a full sound.

They is veeeery solid. In a suspended Oil Rig style of solid :+1:

It is pretty solid, even this one, the base EXR model. Although I’m a cheapscate and supplied my own 30mm Plywood shelves rather than the Something Solid basic ones or expensive Balsa versions.

I’m thinking your speaker positioning needs some work

I’ve got the EXR with the Balsa shelves and Missing Link feet :+1:

They are designed to work up against the rear wall, the drivers are angled 45 Degrees inwards so they are pointing just in front of the listening chair :+1:

Needs cable lifters.

So do they work ?

Is that an earlier attempt at a TT shelf up at very top left  ?

Not my handy work, previous owner as that’s where the Sky ariel feed comes in.

The Larsen speakers? Well yes, the soundstage is vauge compared to what I’m used to with the single driver speakers as you would expect but the tonal balance and apparent smoothness is great. I’ll measure them at some point to see what’s happening.

What about the stains/marks on the carpet outside the naughty cupboard - Previous owners handiwork as well?

What is this, the Spanish inquisition?

That’s just where the door opens and smudges the weave of the carpet.

I will get round to repainting the room at some point…
