Just arrived here this morning is a Burson Conductor Virtuoso, a 'Strayan preamp/headphone amp/Dac.
not Small Audio Manufacture (https://sam-audio.eu/) then
Hope they sound good
Did you make a post on a facebook page about these? They were going in to the back of the Sonus Faber’s.
Nope. It’s a step up transformer.
I had an hm3 one with my transfig, the gain was so high I almost didn’t need to plug it into an amp. Sounded nice though
I’ve only played it briefly. I need to swop my tonearm over as the one fitted has a fault. My pre has adjustable gain so I hope it will work well. I’m just wanted to try a SUT / them. If there isn’t much improvement I will sell on.
So nearly a year later, how are you getting on with this Chris?
Is the app any good?
I’ve been really pleased with it, great sound quality & pretty much hassle free. The Cambridge App for Android is mostly stable these days & far better than older incarnations. However I only tend to use it for internet radio now I’ve let my Tidal subscription lapse.
I’ve got a decent size music library on my Synology NAS & prefer to use Bubble UPnP for Android as the controller App. I much prefer the look 'n feel of Bubble over the Cambridge App. I’m so used to it, as I’ve been using it for over 7 years now & it has always ticked my boxes preference wise & is just completely rock solid.
Brilliant, that’s exactly what I was after, cheers.
Chris, does the 851N App have a play setting allowing you to play tracks randomly from whatever NAS source it is connected to?
Finally got round to sticking the MP200 on and sounding very nice indeed. A very generous gift from Gareth @Waxy cheers old boy that’s a good few beers I owe you.
Pink and purple-tastic.
It is indeed - I should get some Prince on in celebration.
He’s alright, that @Waxy, sometimes.
Nice one Gareth
Hi Gareth.
It is possible to play tracks randomly from either your current playlist or from a previously saved playlist. Not from the library as a whole though. It is also possible to add a whole artist folder as a playlist in itself or to add multiple artist folders to a playlist & then play randomly from these.
TBH these options would be to my mind be preferable to totally randomly from my library as with totally random I’d often find it ‘jarring’.
Aye he’s no a bad sort Mike.
Thanks Chris, one more question if I may… is there a maximum number of items in a playlist?
I like the jarring
so the option to add the complete collection as a playlist would be useful.
I’m in the habit of continually adding to current playlists & have never found a limit yet. Many times I’ve not started totally afresh for weeks at a time. Just had a wee squiz at t’ Bubble user guide & there is no mention of playlist limits.
Thanks Chris
Nice, would like to try a higher up the range nagaoka one day
Have an mp11 with boron stylus which I like
