I’d never used one before then two come along at the same time - I now have the MP200 and an MP10 which I’ve still to try. Enjoying the MP200 so far.
I just couldn’t afford to chop and change MC’s Stu so stepped down to MM’s and tbh I don’t really regret it.
I’d like to try and find a cheap mono cart to see how my few mono lps sound.
Aha, Gareth. I’ve just discovered how to do what you want. If I access the whole DiskStation music library using the Cambridge 851N’s supplied infra red remote & navigate via the 851N front panel, you can load the whole library onto the player, set it running from the beginning & then select random on the remote & you then have random playback from the whole library. It takes a few minutes beforehand to load the library into the player. It gives you your total track no + a running count to show loading progress.
I’m so used to only using the remote to power the player on/off & it also usefully controls my pre-amp, that I hadn’t thought to try, as I’m so used to solely using Bubble for accessing t’ library. So what you want is definitely doable!!

No worries Gareth. Glad to help! I’m really pleased with the sonic improvement over my Stream Magic 6 which is no slouch in itself. My friend Jen found it jaw droppingly good on first listen & has since bought the Cambridge Audio CDT transport + a DacMagic+
I still smile at Jen’s initial reaction on hearing it, as I deliberately didn’t big it up & just let the music do the talking. 
I am looking at the 851n first, then a Zoneripper to convert ~700 CDs to NAS files.
The Aesthetix Calypso and Kharma mono’s have finally been usurped.
Close to 9 years with that combo, tried many pieces but nothing I could afford tempted me away. The final iteration in the current room was the best by some margin, nothing like unrestricted speaker placement to help make a system sing. The amps in particular were a bit fussy, they didn’t work at all in some implementations, Stuart’s one year springs to mind! That said in my system I appreciated the way they reflected any change made to the source or Pre.
Well they’re gone and three boxes are replaced by one, an Analog Domain MP75D. Not as straightforward a swap as I’d imagined. Initially it did some things better but didn’t really engage. Toeing out the speakers and moving the listening position forward were the key and it’s now living up to it’s reputation

The guy that bought my Evolution MMMicro speakers a couple of years ago brought one of those amps up to demo them. Nice. Did you ever try an Atlas with your Calypso?

I really like Aesthetix. My hotrodded Pandora DAC is going nowhere for the forseeable future.
Also liked the pre, tube rolling req to get it going but when compared in my system to all sorts of stuff like AN & Audio Research Ref for me it was six of one. Nothing comprehensively beat it, others had different strengths but I was more than happy. The only pre I tried that comprehensively beat it was the Robert Koda K10 and that’s mega money. Aesthetix is great kit

that Aesthetix combo is highly rated, particularly the Sig’s you have.
Surprising the Vitus didn’t get closer, you hear so much talk of Avalon and Vitus working well together and the amp you had is said to be a belter.
After Covid derailed the shiping of my speakers from Oz I decided I had to get some speakers and an amp to survive lockdown. Always had a curiostiy for 90’s Kefs so took a chance on a pair of Reference 3’s. Realy surprised me how good they were so things quickly got out of hand and I went looking for a pair of 4.2’s. Very fortunatley I soon found a lovely one owner pair and one of the last pairs made in immaculate condition.
I will never sell the 4.2’s, they are great speakers and very pretty too. Speakers of this quality and capabilities aren’t really made much anymore Here’s a few pics of me dicking around with both pairs when I first brought the 4.2’s home. The room is a shambles, its waiting for the Mrs to paint and to sort lights/curtains. She better get on with it cause it looks like shit the way it is.

Could you lower the window before decorating, looks like a great view.
The view is quite nice across to Conwy mountain, the pic was taken low down but when seated you get a pleasant view of the evening sunset.

Its a Sony 707ES Hoops, the 808 seems a rare find. It drives them so effortlessly.
Following Japanese gauge man’s non starting foo meter I called Len Gregory to see if he would service my old gauge. £50, new battery and calibration later this 10 year old lump is performing excellently (More importantly, repeatably)
