Shit you just learned (probably from the internet.)

Yep, I won’t give a penny to that cunt Dyson.

… on a grassy slope …10 minutes from my house …

There aren’t any natural grassy slopes within about 3 miles of here. But there are a few artificial ones. It says half way down the article that the appearance of the plants is believed to be due to someone scattering seed a few years ago. So I can make a reasonable guess at where the popular public space with the slopes might be …

Very biblical, so a dogging area then? :grinning:

Well if it’s where I think it is you’d get plenty of passers by, and quite a few with dogs. No room for cars though …

One horsepower is 746 watts.

Or: Why reasonable amounts of exercise won’t lose you much weight (man-hauling twice your own body weight across the antarctic ice sheet for a couple of months will).

@spacehopper will know better than me, but wasn’t Robert pedalling too slowly (too low a cadence) for efficient power generation ?

His cadence was very low but I think it was down to the set up of the machine as you can see the flex on the handlebar as he’s pedalling out of the saddle.

It did seem an odd set up as once up to speed on his normal bike he would be outputting much more watts than that.

Good idea for powering a Bake Off. How many people would it take to power a Sound System. With a Valve Amplifier for example?

Seriously, bloody interesting video. I may have shared it a couple of times… :+1:

TIL that the main man of Baroness - John Baizley is also an accomplished artist, doing album art and T shirt for quite a lot of acts including Gillian Welch’s The Harrow & The Harvest

Once you’ve had it pointed out to you I guess it becomes obvious.

Derry (co-owner of Resident Records) gave me a lecture on the cover art when I bought the Harrow and the Harvest. If you buy the vinyl version (although there was only one release so it is getting expensive) it is in colour.

I’d never heard of them / him, but they’ve just been announced as headlining one night of a festival that I hope to go to.

Obviously somebody thinks they’re good so I ended up going down the Google rabbit hole.

I am a big fan of Baroness. Saw them at The Fleece in Bristol on the fateful night before the brakes failed on their tour bus on a steep hill near Bath.

They are worth catching live.

I have tickets, but going on recent experience there’s a hell of a lot that can go wrong between now and then.
