The aerodynamic effect may be real, but the attribution to the cause is bollocks. Google “coriolis effect” and it should be pretty obvious.
Tbh, it’s more plausible that they’re just ribbed for pleasure.

Electrification of the railways is, probably, a good thing overall.
But boy is it hideously vulnerable to single-point failure (a bust train, presumably, chewing up the overhead cables)
I think a lot of the loony left are brexiteers. The tories want to take back control and devolve it to local authorities and leftie labour want to take back control and have it all in central govt.
Both extremes of the political spectrum are just cunts.

Yep, it’s certainly all about control - all political parties want the nearest thing to a dictatorship that they can secure, hence why even the ‘best’ of them have been mealy-mouthed about Europe since Brexit.
Same is true with things like PR - Libs couldn’t ditch it from their agenda fast enough when they got a sniff of power. Its successor, the Single Transferable Vote, while meritorious, is poorly communicated and inconspicuous on their agenda.
Nationalism played beautifully into the hands of the tories - NI, Wales and Scotland will never vote Labour again, so it’ll be a miracle if we ever see another non-Tory government in our lifetimes. That’s why the cunts complacently wallow in corruption, nation-scale asset-stripping and kill-the-poor policies: they know they’re untouchable behind the facade of democracy.
It’s what happens why you let egomaniacs and psychopaths run things…
Sadly when your system of governance and rule of law aren’t up to snuff to prevent this then yes this type of shameless vermin can run rough shod and do whatever they please.
While I don’t disagree with the thrust of your post, pedantry compels me to point out that Labour and the Tories don’t operate in NI and that Wales consistently does vote Labour and currently has a Labour government.
You’re right about Scotland though. We’ve still not forgotten that Labour shared a platform with the Tories in 2014 and, in my opinion unless they embrace independence, they’ll remain a minor player in Scotland.
