It’s £5k for basically every bank, I think.
And Paul’s car dealer was pushing him away from cash (which is cheap) to card (expensive). That’s rather odd.

There are now “unexplained wealth orders” but these are used far too infrequently in my opinion. And probably in the opinion of everyone who isn’t a Russian or a Tory.
Not when you factor in the security costs and time for dealing with it properly.
Still surprised you didn’t pay for your latest car in Dogecoin, mind.
Nope, in 2016/2017 I used to withdraw dividends as £10k in cash from my barclays bus account and take it next door and pay it in as cash to my Nat West personal account. I probably did that about 20x times and not once was I questioned or challenged by either bank.
When I sold my SJS amps a few years ago the guy paid me £6k in cash and I paid that into my account without any issues.
The only time I had some hassle was when I wanted to withdraw £8k from my First direct account, that was only because they don’t have branches so had to phone up and they arranged for the cash to be available at the local HSBC branch.
For a long time 10K + was where eybrows and flags could be raised when paying in. It’s worse withdrawing cash these days at my local main branch I have to order the money in (24hr adv) if I need more than 3K. There’s been times when the conversation: ‘So I give you my money, you make money from my money then don’t give it to me when I require it’ have occurred.
That’s funny, you really should have been asked about that
Today I learned that once upon a time, the Royal Navy had a destroyer called HMS Nubian
Logical to a fault, both ends were towed to Chatham, welded together, given a spot of t-cut, named HMS Zubian and continued to serve for another three years;
Possibly the ultimate cut and shut
Can only be a good thing, as RM really are lamentably shit.
Maybe it’ll “encourage” them to provide A sort of service.
Can only be a shit thing.
Royal Mail are required to provide a service at standard prce to anywhere in the UK (including monkey hangers in Fetlar)
All these sell offs do is take profitable work away from Royal Mail and leave them with the expensive services.
Then the only way they can turn a profit to the shareholders is to piss all over their employees even more.
I am not a nationalist but every time we sell off stuff to foreign countries our friends and neighbours lose their jobs and as a society we go further downhill
I meant it more in a now maybe they will be forced to actually deliver a package in the same week as the day they say they will, having paid a premium for the service, sort of way.
La Poste (who own DPD) are partially nationalised.
So just like other foreign nationalised industries who now energy companies etc price rises for us keep down costs for foreign nationals. So sell off Royal Mail servicesto DPD and give the profits to the French government who will use the money to subside their own services
There is a reason why our electricity costs are 47% more than the French, they own half of our industry we are subsidising the French consumer.
Wow! I never knew that the PO and RM were separate.
When/ How did that happen?
Years ago
When Osborne made his Eton mates privatise it
It was horrendously undervalued so the normal suspects could make a killing
Honestly never knew that. Always assumed they were the same.
Now of course it is loaded with debt so they can’t ‘afford’ to keep the work force as it is and need massive staff cuts to stay solvent.
What do you think the strikes are all about?
I get all that. Just never twigged they were separate.
Aren’t there two parcel services, royal mail ams parcel force? Are are they the same just with different interfaces for customers. PF for larger parcels and RM for the smaller stuff.
Yes RM own parcelfarce for UK and GLS for international.
