Please don’t, especially a pouch.

Anyway, our postie has just delivered much needed covfefe supplies so is indispensable.

Edit: in which mod removes typo in quote as well…

Hej @Rob998

With the OneBlade is there supposed to be a little bit of vertical play with the blade in its socket?

If you shake the whole thing does it rattle a little bit?

Asking before I slice myself silly tomorrow morning.

No it should all be solid apart from the pivoting head, erm, pivoting. Try lifting the head a little and pushing the blade all the way home. I’m just picking FoL up from the stables, I’ll have a proper look over mine when I get in.

Oh arse.

Stables? Spendy.

Ok, I was talking bollocks, the blade does move in the head, and yes it rattles. I bloody well shaved with it today and never even noticed!

I’ve just rang my mate who had a Genesis and his rattled too. It’s a design feature, floating blade principle apparently.

Anyway it shaves really smoothly and undramatically, bit like a cartridge razor really.

Ok, so maybe my ā€œJESUS CHRIST ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?ā€ email to the help desk might have been a bit premature.

Lol, you emailed OneBlade? You’ll never hear the end of it!

Rob , would you say they are a worthwhile alternative to a tradition safety razor ? I’ve currently got a Timor safety and it does give a nice close shave , providing I’ve got time to spare. Hence I seem to alternate between that and whatever disposables are on offer at the time.

They’re almost the perfect transitional razor for someone who’s coming from a cartridge razor to a safety style razor, and isn’t interested in trying out loads of different blade brands to see which suits best, you have to use the Feather FHS10, which is a pain because they don’t last very long, but you will get a really good shave once you get used to using it, and as I said there’s absolutely no drama in using it, I’ve never once thought that I would cut myself using it.

Actually, thinking about it more, it’s probably the only non cartridge razor that most people would ever need.

There’s no real objective reason not to like this razor, apart from the relatively short blade life. You get a really good shave, with no danger of slicing yourself up and little or no aftershave sting. It’s only my perverse attraction to really quite scary blade geometry that stops me using this for every shave.

I’m going to put a little starter package together over the next couple of days and put it in the Toot Bazaar.

OK, can confirm that it would be actively difficult to cut yourself with one of these things.

Really quite an odd little piece of equipment.

Where’s the fun in that? What are you going to do with your stiptic pencils? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

How are you finding it after a week or so of getting used to it?

S’ok.

It’s fundamentally not as effective as a usual DE razor, so you can wave it about with gay abandon like a cartridge razor, it’s almost impossible to cut yourself, but you don’t get as good a shave.

Horses for courses I guess.

I thought that I would revisit Feathers after a good while away and am disappointed with the out of the box sharpness and of course the durability of the edge for more than a couple of shaves, I remembered them as being wickedly sharp blades :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
