Cheers, I tried a mixed pack early on when I started double edge shaving, feather seemed best. Then I got a feather razor so makes sense.
I have a shedload of blades and I love feather but only get two shaves from them. Gillette blacks, lab blues and anything from the Rapira stable of blades are usually my go to blades.
I think your face is made of different stuff to mine.
Feather is fine for a good while. Lab blues == instant trip to A&E.
Lab blues in my fatip, effortless shaves and can probably get 4 or 5 shaves from a blade.
Me too - always been good so far.
New slant arrived this morning. Been waiting ages for this to come back in to stock
Such a big difference in the fit and finish between this and the first fatip I bought many years ago.
Open comb?
You sure do like to live dangerously
Got a few open combs, Ikon, fatip (x2 and now x3), Muhle R41. I tend to use them when a I have a few days growth, due to my shifts I tend to go 4 or 5 days without a shave, in which case they are perfect. I canât use them daily as they tend to be a little harsh, except for the Ikon which, with a Feather, I find really mild.
Iâve been using a MĂźhle R89 solidly for maybe a couple of years now. Cheap, and you canât really go wrong
Now, no thanks at all to @Rob998 Iâve taken a punt on
I got spammed to death about the ludicrous ÂŁ300 version, but it seems worth a gamble for ÂŁ40-ish.
I suppose now is not the time to mention that I was going to offer up mine, including 5 blades for a donation to forum fundsâŚ
Yeh, that would be great, given that mine shipped on Tuesday and should probably arrive today
Iâll put it up tomorrow thenâŚ
Itâs not even 9am and my day is already complete
The postie just delivered mine.
Did I mention that all posties are twats?
Itâs a condition of employment.
Our postie Anne obviously has a twat, but I donât think she is one ![]()
My best mate is a postie. I can agree wholeheartedly in that statement!
It must be a rural thing. Ourâs (Steve) is great and will take stuff back to the office for you to save us having to find a post box.
Umm, guys, if weâre having a collective âwhooshâ moment, all our local posties in gritty SE London are great.
I was taking a pop at @Rob998 who appears to have waited for me to buy a new razor before letting slip that he was planning on giving his away.
Iâll be interested to hear how you get on with the one blade. If it is indeed as convenient as cartridge blades but without the cost I may have a punt.
