Claire has had a few scary episodes over the last few months.
If you were doing heart attack symptoms bingo youād have got a full house, but an ambulance visit and a 12 hour wait in A&E said otherwise.
It took a young locum GP (lovely young man, very good looking 
) to suggest gall stones.
And the very good looking lovely young man GP (honestly, could we get away with that crap?) was spot on.
So yesterday Claire had her gall bladder out, and now Iām basically her slave for the next month or so.

My mumās life improved considerably after her cholecystectomy.

Yeah, I know, sheās going to be fine which is a big result because I have no idea how the extended family, or indeed the household finances works without her.
Iām off for the next week, then FoL#1 Ellie is home from uni the week after so sheās going to be waited on for a bit.
Pretty happy that sheās going to stick around for a bit.

Thatās great news Rob, I hope her recovery goes smoothly and that you enjoy being the family domestic. Now I donāt know Claire, but if you want to annoy her, if things get a little hectic for you, you could always recite the gall stone mantra to her, fair, fat and forty. I donāt fancy your chances though as sheāll soon be fit enough to give you a good pasting. 
(Oh, and the decades old mantra isnāt particularly accurate)

Great news sheās diagnosed and fixed. My Claire had her gall bladder out years ago and was fine after a week or two, just FYI. Spoil yours anyway.

Lots of positive news which is great to see. @Rob998 @crimsondonkey and @unclepuncle you must be very relieved. @mmichbam fingers crossed for you, and @MJ2 fingers crossed for Sarah.
A bleated update re Yvonne, she started a four cycle course of adjuvant chemotherapy in January. Three weeks cycles with cisplatin and vinorelbine infusions weeks one, and a just vinoralbine week two, with a weeks recovery. The week one infusions is a very long day due to the amount of hydration also required. Also between week two and the start of the next cycle she has to self inject filgrastim for three days to encourage the bone marrow to produce more white blood cells. The second cycle had to be delayed a week due to low white blood cells count, apparently not uncommon. Itās been hard work for her due to extreme impact on energy levels, sleep and just feeling sick for two out of three weeks despite the anti-sickness medicines. Also had a couple of visits to A&E due to possible infections. But having learnt after the first visit to the Royal Free(5 min walk), we learnt it was much better to go to UCL (20 min taxi) who are doing the treatment and have all the records available.
Positive news is just one more cycle to go which starts 3rd April. That should then be it for the cancer treatment apart from some scans to confirm no further issues. However we have also had to engage with ENT as one side of the vocal cords were damaged during the surgery, and regular injections may be required to aid the impact of that. Already had an initial visit and visiting again end of July for first injection.
Next plan is a short break late May/early June after a phased return to work from May.
