I’m not sure about the desire to wear boots for normal poncing about. Surely the purpose of a boot is ankle support?
I mostly wear boots. They are very comfortable as everyday. I’m only have ankle supporting boots for work (since my walking boots carked it).

In what way are they more comfortable than shoes? Just longer laces to do up.
I didn’t say that they were more comfortable. I like boots. I grew up wearing boots. R M Williams in particular. They have no laces.
I still wear shoes but prefer boots for most occasions.
I prefer a ‘Mid’ Boot for everyday. At work I wear a pair of DM Steels, and usually casually (especially winter) wear my Lowa Winter Boots.
I appreciate the support and comfort boots bring, I also find most shoes without any padding around the ankle really uncomfortable, I have boney/girly ankles…
