Non-zero chance of that happening - the choice of boot was in part to have something that will take a crampon for when the mountains here get snow on top.

Was watching a feature this morning on BBC breakfast about meteorologists who walk up Helvellyn every day to take readings. They were all wearing boots with the visible yellow sole round the front. Is it a thing generally or just this brand?
I think it’s a La Sportiva thing, but I don’t know that others aren’t doing something similar. They do a fair few quite bright yellow boots:
If you see someone atop Everest, they’re quite likely wearing those Olympus Mons boots at the top - they’re also used by all the field staff and guides of the British Antarctic Survey.

i don’t know if you got them from “a fine pair of shoes” but they often have stow’s on sale in a variety of mad colours
I like these, but for the money, I think I’d want a pair of EG dovers instead. Not because I think they’re any better, but just because its the “classic” split toe derby.
I have a pair of C&J cordovan derbies though, the “Ashdown”. I like them

I found myself looking at the Trickers sale, The Cheaney sale the C&J sale and realising that I have about 15 pairs of cunty shoes and boots and I mainly work from home in my slippers.
As the rather eccentric chap at the Trickers factory said to me when I bought a pair of Bourton Country shoes, " Good choice sir, they will certainly last longer than you"

I have two pairs of Burnished Espresso Bourton new in boxes. One leather and one dainite sole.
Don’t need them. I have about five pairs of black shoes ready for a resole in a bag (Woodstock and Ilkley - in the calf and zug!).
It’s an illness. I have now moved to wearing comfy pumps. The black ones were at an irresistible price, and I shall mainly be looking at them.
My work mate has his name on the John Lobb factory sale list. That’s A tier.
