They did indeed

One of a few pairs of crocketts I have that just aren’t made any more. One of the others being my rough-out Exmoors on a 348 last. Probably my favourite beater shoes!

Some work shoes. Need either sole or a heel on one or two. Having a soak in renovateur.
The Woodstock are the favourites. Superbly comfortable.
I’ve got a pair of 8 Burford on leather sole if anyone wants to make an offer. Same as the ones bottom left. New. I’ll get round to a proper advert at some point.

They are a plague to taste and decency.

I had a pair of winklepicker Chelsea Boots from Shelleys in the Kings Road in the 80s :grinning:

These can be found on cheap suit second hand car salesmen - estate agents and hifi dealers

Proof positive cunt shoes.

(The mind garden suspects such gorm free individuals further fraternize with the following: Cold Play / Celine Dion / Audi’s / ‘Fun Socks’ / Mrs Browns Boys / Cheap tribal tattoos / Roy chubby Brown / Nescafe coffee & CD’s)

Timing!
C&J sales were on when I passed their shops in London a week or so ago!

C&J’s pricing seems to have gone through the roof in the last 12-18 months. Shoes that were about £450 now seem to be £550-600. Very annoying as I was considering buying a pair but can’t really justify it now. But yes they do have regular sales so will have to see then.

I think those prices have been correct for the last year or so,
Cheaney were about £450, Tricker and C&J were about £100 above that.

Sorry you’re right, I meant to say ‘went through the roof…’. The price of the pair I had my eye on suddenly increased about a year ago.

The sale was still on today, but these weren’t in it.

These were cordovan. The equivalent shoe in calf leather is £575.

Although having looked it up online I’ve now realised that I already have a pair, but in black :man_facepalming:

Make them an offer: those ones have gone all wrinkly and are the exact same shade of brown as what I just flushed away to the North Sea :ok_hand:

C&J have been known to cross the line of pointydom.

Most of them have sales on now. Of interest to this group:

Just polished these a bit.

I know that the soles are shot and will need to be redone at some point

but now I’ve noticed that one of the toes is quite seriously parting company with the rest of the shoe. So it’s an almost immediate trip to Koko’s and I really needn’t have bothered with polishing
