I’m not sure what these did in a past life to deserve all the fugley being thrown at them but I’m guessing it’s glue related
Are they Jeffrey West?
What would you wear them with? Trousers /jeans would hide the design at the top, but if you wore them with shorts, you’d look stupid, which leaves cropped trousers, which, obviously, are the height of cuntishness…
I love his shoes, but the ones I’ve tried on are utterly crippling.
Fred and Rosemary West more likely.
John West
Sounds a bit fishy me…
Jeffrey and Bungle more like
Are you channeling your inner @Jim? If so, stop it.
Point taken…
Jeffrey West?
Two words that mean that a shoe is not for me.
The other two are Ziggy Marley
I love his shoes

I love the Marmolada boots,
I’ve got some of these, and while very comfy seem to have that Scarpa problem - which is appalling performance on wet rock. They’re great on mud and even wet grass but the slightest bit of dampness on rock and it’s like standing on ice.
I suspect they’ve chosen a Vibram sole that’s harder in order to wear less. My Garmont, Lowa and Sportiva boots - all Vibram soled - are significantly better.
As a result the Scarpas are relegated to dog-walking duty, much like my original Mantas were (though they’re still going; 29 years old, still on the original soles despite thousands of miles, but now on someone else’s feet!).
I was in the JW shop off Jermyn Street on Saturday morning. Some most excellent shoes, but alas most are too narrow for my feet.
I do though have a pair of these
I would agree somewhat, I’ve used the Marmolada up in the Alps (Summer and Winter) as well as the UK (Cotswolds, Dartmoor/Exmoor and Peak District) and the grip is not the best but my main complaint is the stiffness for general use, just not enough cushioning under the sole.
The Outdry is impressive though, very lightweight and no leaks so far, even when standing in a stream taking photos for 20-min!
just not enough cushioning under the sole.
I replaced the standard footbed with a Boots gel one - much better!

I’ve bought some Svartz footbeds, my brother raves about them so will give those a go.
We plan on starting the South West Coastal Path from Minehead (and see where we get to) this summer so I need to have a play with them properly!
