I avoided them for literally decades but when I recently deigned to give them a try I was absolutely amazed at the difference (+ve) that they made.

It’s tough work getting the settings dialled in and working out the best overall balance for the system, but the SVS having an app you can tweak from your seat helps
Wasn’t expecting that I’d need to invert the signal just to have it work at all. Must be something weird about the way the Luxman deals with pre outs vs speakers.
Lots of manufacturers do this inversion thing through the various boxes.
Conrad Johnson were well known for it and even published a guide to system set up and how to work out which way round to connect the speakers.

Yeah with positive polarity on the sub, zero bass!
Negative polarity sorted it right out.
Still playing with crossover and slope, but I’ll get the microphone out tomorrow and use REW to dial in more accurately
I have my two subs set on negative polarity as it sounds better.
I think your tv stand looks great.

I have a tiny REL sub partnering my LS35a’s.
Tips I would offer, based on my messing about, would be to set the crossover level to be where the speaker’s bass falls off (or should that be starts?).
Watch out for the bass sounding ‘one-note’. If it is, tweak some more.
My volume level and crossover level are both roughly at 10 o’clock.
I listen very near-field and the sub has really worked for me.
Finally moved in and have gone minimalist for the HiFi.

In typical ignoring “measure twice cut once” style I found what I thought was a really cool Indian silk painting on ebay.
Should’ve checked the dimensions 
Have ordered a huge old persian brass round tray to go in its place now though.

Really good single driver speakers, have very little bass but do mids fantastically well.

Can bring them to Lopwell if you want to hear them?
If you’ve room. They look a nice finish though, wouldn’t want to risk them getting dinged.
I’ve got the boxes for them, took them to Settle but they were swallowed by the barn room
