Once you can define your amplifier in Kg/W you are on the right side of the hobby!
It’s ok, he doesn’t mention prices
Perhaps they are affordable
The govt. have committed to making 100 pairs of affordable 300Bs available by the end of 2026.
I don’t qualify…

You will just have to paint a red cross on your volume control.
Out of pure nosiness how would that work if you decided you wanted one/it?
Just keep it? Or ship it back and get a new one shipped in? The latter sounds like the wrong kind of faff.
I believe the Cayin is very low hours so, if I decide to go for it, we might be able to do a deal and part exchange my Luxman and keep the Cayin here.
I’ve done a fair bit of dealing with them over the years and they’re always been very fair and very helpful.
Not sure I’ve ever heard a cayin amp,but always liked the look of them.
Was close to buying one of their valve amps in the 00s when the Chinese hi fi stuff really started to come in.
Think Line Magnetic was started by a designer & employees at Cayin and make the amps for Triode so if you’ve heard either of them you’d have a sense of what they are.
I had a Cayin el34 amp for a couple of years prior to the Luxman and it was great.
It wasn’t until I got the Direkts and Chris @thebiglebowski suggested an el84 amp might work better with them (he was right
) that I considered changing.
This is rated at 10w, same as the Luxman, but the sound is much fuller and the build and finish on the Cayin is exceptional as well.
EL-84’s were always my favourite sounding toobs, until I heard a sorted 300B.
