SOYS: State Of Your System

It’s too long ago (12 years or so), I had thought it was just an LDR passive (albeit mains powered) but I might well be wrong. I didn’t recall that it incorporated a buffer.

Been listening to these today (Pnoe horns with BD5 drivers) along with the Trafomatic Elysium Mono blocks. If I’m honest, I currently want to throw my system in the bin.

As my nan used to say, “only hang about with people who have worse hi fi systems than yours”

Does he use any kind of sub?

No, it’s a weird one but unlike lacking Lowthers these things dig down pretty well. I can’t find the spec for the BD5 but here is the BD4 bumf

Based on a quick glance at the price list, where you start with a large number, and then add some other large numbers to it, that these might be quite spendy :grimacing:

I think the first Truth T1s started getting made and sold in the US in 2010.

And I’ll just take seven 301s please!

A soundstage that gets reassuringly expensive towards the centre👌

The 301’s in ‘The reserve’ are all special either by rarity or associated story. There is nothing standard in this place, it’s kind of like being in Narnia with an erection.

Have you bought another one?

I did some googling and the LDR pre I borrowed was called Myth rather than Truth. It was from Serbia. I don’t know if that’s still a going concern.

It’s no longer a Myth it is a Legend.

Guy do you remember if it was a buffered design type?
I tried this an remembered it as very smooth and slightly unexciting

Yeah 20Hz at what - dB?

I like to see a real in room measurement plot of these.
