I’ve got and used the Townshend Podiums, Auralex foam supports, squash balls & tennis balls. Out of all these the Auralex foam supports work best as you keep the treble performance and improve bass. The Podiums take away a bit of the treble and speed while squash balls squash over time and become a waste of time. Tennis balls are pretty good (place them in a cake baking try to keep them together) but boy your speakers will wobble and feel unstable so you’ll live in constant fear of them falling over.
Tip, put the Auralex 's in a strong plastic bag so they slide over the carpet and make it easy to position to play with the position of the speakers.
I’ve used grammas, Townshend podium bars which cost a fortune, and how Gaia 2’s. The Townshend were probably the best, but the pain when moving them, the wobble, etc. I prefer the Gaia’s as they are way more solid and easier to deal with.
