Semi. It drops when the platter is powered and auto lifts and shuts off the motor at end of side.
ToblerRob, yes, if you mean the Zamas downstairs. Still haven’t tried their bass units with better mid-tweeter boxes.

Cable confessin’ blues . . .
I utilize foo (well, what would have passed for foo 25 years ago) cables in both systems. A mix of Wireworld, DH Labs, XLO, and Kimber.
Do they make a damn bit of difference? No, of course they don’t But I have them and I can’t be bothered to sell them. And they do acturally look nice. And they are well made. So, there you are.
Interestingly, after the turntables most non hi-fi visitors comment on the cables. Monster did one hell of a job marketing to anyfuckingbody who might have need of a bit of wire.
I have only supra cables because they are all the same colour and therefore I can sleep at night.
Edit: I should correct that, my bag of cables is only supra. System is in boxes awaiting the plasterers to get rid of all the artex end of this month.
System hasn’t changed much for several years.

Lots of dust as well obvs
Those Reloops any good? See a few pop up on ebay
Don’t expect Technics build quality (except for the Turn 5) but they sound great and are superb vfm.
The Turn 5 is their direct drive hi-fi deck rather than the RP 4000 which is simple belt drive DJ deck.
The Turn 5 is a belter of a deck.
Thanks. I’ll keep a look out for the 5
What player is it Allan?
It’s not the best photo of the 5 but it’s a lovely looking deck as well.
I’m using an Nagaoka MP10 on it just now and it sounds great - I would imagine if you went up the cart food chain it would get even better.
I’m guessing the Cayin has a built in phonostage Al ? Decent ?
To this day I’ve never heard a pair of Thiel loudspeakers. They were flavour of the month when I first got back into hifi ~2003, but seem to have vanished from the UK, which seems a pity since they seemed to have some pretty unique ideas iirc.
It’s an add on Mike but only MM - sounds superb as does the built in DAC and headphone circuit.
Boom ! Seems like a result to me
These are very early on in Thiel’s history. So early in fact, that the actual manufacturing was done in the Toronto suburb of Markham rather than in Lexington, Kentucky. A few years later they launched the Coherence Series (model numbers start with CS), and developed a sort of house sound. They all have mahoosive crossovers and need an amp with amps, so not really en mode
The build quality and veneers have always been top
