Didn’t you have a pair of actives for a while?

I don’t think I’ve seen your Transmission Audios before. They look very nice.

I still have them Guy. The TA’s are my keeper speakers.

In my defence, I’ve had them a couple of years

How many non-keeper speakers have been through in that time though?

SOMyS: a mess at present. OCD sufferers look away now. Haven’t listened in the main room for several months, must sort it out.
As is appropriate for my strapline, my stuff is more bargain basement than high end, but I like unusual items and obscure brands. So, in place at present are (from top to bottom)
Chris Harrison (Clip Engineering) turntable lovingly made in a Bolton shed from (mostly) offcuts and recycled material, with Logic Datum 2 arm. Cartridge is Ortofon Quintet red fitted with Shibata-tipped beryllium cantilever by a man in Serbia (so I was told).

Going down the rack, next shelf is a Vincent CDS3 player mod’d with Burson opamps,
then a shelf of smaller items - ANT Kora MC phonostage, Topping D50s DAC, a source selector and master volume box, and a Minidsp 2x4HD set at 300Hz for bass crossover.

Next down is a Dussun pre to provide volume control for the mid and tweeter boxes (with a spare DAC on top of it).
At floor level there is a hidden Aaron Millennium no.3 power amp for the bass speakers, and in front a Dussun power amp for the mid and treble boxes (this runs hot, so is out of the rack).
Speakers are (mid & tweeter) AOL Studio 12 XL clones, and (bass) RMB Concert Grand prototypes.

Cables? All sorts.

Damn you and your analytical mind.

Seriously ? The TA’s and the Edifiers.

Do you still have those big toblerone shaped ish speakers Dave? They were interesting.

Living room:

Denon DP59L with an Audio Technica AT150MLX into the Rega Brio’s phono stage.

Technics SL-1200GR with Ortofon headshell, Ortofon Kontrpunkt b, Ortofon ST-7 transformer, Dynavector P75 mk4 phono stage.

Meridian 506 18bit CD.

Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100 for TV sound.

Rega Brio integrated.

Thiel Model 04 loudspeakers.

Bedroom:

Old skool Well Tempered turntable with Black Damped platter and carbon fibre tonearm added years ago making it essentially a Well Tempered Super. (LOL, still haven’t rewired the tonearm after cat induced trauma). Will eventually use a Hana SH with this.

Jolida JD-9 phono stage,

47 Labs Shigaraki 4716 Transport and 4715 DAC.

Array A1 pre-amp (sold in North America badged as a Van Den Hul)

Crimson 640D monoblocs.

B&W 706 S2.

Only change I will be making is to switch the Rega to the bedroom and the Crimsons (with a yet unnamed pre-amp) to the front system.

Someone should start a forum about hi-fi . . . seems to be some interest.

Makes a nice change.
Might start a cable thread, to take us back to 2005.

Don’t bother, eh ?

The DAC is great to my ears. Clear and precise, which I appreciate with acoustic instruments.

Is the 59 a fully automatic tonearm?

If it’s not palladium cables, what’s the point
