She wants no sign of hifi yet you’re thinking about 15’s each side of the fireplace lol
Could of possibly been a Heals but I couldn’t find any markings on it
The speakers were these
Goodmans Axiom 80s. Precious things.

Option C noted. She has said I can get a flat, many times.
That one was bespoke, I’ve got the Heals cab in the office - Graeme is correct the one leg does indeed only store a single Quad II
Clever idea re the leg
I wonder how hot things get in there in the summer time ?

Why didn’t they just make the legs the same and have stereo?! Half a job.
Mono was a common thing back then. Quad released the stereo pre-amp in the same-sized housing as their mono one had occupied, so it was a drop-in replacement. The one in the pic might have been a later modification to the whole unit. The other power amp would have had to have sat outside the cabinet, perhaps hidden behind the other speaker ?

Fell a little bit in love with a pair of Scansonic MB 3.5 yesterday, convinced myself I could place them in the bay. Got home and read the placement guidelines, which I’m sure plays a massive part in the soundstage. Would most probably result in be a classic case of ‘amazing speakers at dealer sound a pile of shite in my home’.
JBL Paragon, the way to go for the spousally challenged meatman😂!
Unless you have an en suite bedroom above a garage and you can convince her that you can make do without speakers in the living room.
Are there any Paragons in the UK?
Bookshelf bake off is the way to go
£100 to the wife to go shopping usually frees the house up
Only one way to find out. If it’s love, it’s love. Do it!
More input.
It’s vented with a metal (Similar to a quad 57) grill cover

What’s the make again Dave
