Do you not fancy the …glenairs on the wam …from fordy …… :grinning:

White Guru Junior on the walls in the corners or those BeoSound shape units above the radiator?
Not the hi-fi that you crave but the BeoSound will work within your constraints and the Guru will work in odd places.
I like the look of your current speakers and would stick with them if you want floorstanders. Room on the floor on the left for a sub if you move the plant?

Had a demo of the guru QM10, they were pretty good and the dealer did suggest that they work well a good distance apart making a big soundstage. I made the mistake of listening to Sonus Faber directly after, which made the vocals seem so much more real (at three times the cost).

Got room for a sub on the floor, the one thing making me want to move on from the B&O is that the soundstage seems hollow, voices seem to be far away, behind the chimney breast, instead of centre or upfront. Could be the room I suppose. Might drag them out onto the side wall and see if things change.

I’d try and get a listen to some other speakers in that room first

It maybe a rubbish room not worthy of splurging to much on

Looking at sealed designs, some good pro monitors around like the Event and Hedd models, just wonder if they create any kind of soundstage as they are typically used nearfield?
Hifi speaker wise, I’ve not really ‘enjoyed’ ATC designs, but they would seem to one of the few around. Snell/AN might offer a sound more up my street, and would allow me to use my current amps too.

Can’t you just move the whole shooting match to a different room or outbuilding ?

I really can’t see it being worth putting £3-4K speakers in that room, unless you can lose the table.

Yep, you’re right, resolves that I won’t invest too much, too compromised.
Make the most of it until I can convert the garage or build a fancy shed.

Best plan. You’re half way there with the money you’ll save on the speakers.

Just make sure the garage is big enough!
