Tennis - at least it's marginally more interesting than golf

This describes Australian Immigration policy for as long as I been a Strayan citizen and probably far longer given the White Australia policy. Sad to say that those poor sods in the Park Hotel are (relatively) lucky compared to those in the Manus Island Detention Center.

This. Straya is a pox on decent Western Society.

But be under no illusion; this is less about an obnoxious cunt wanting to earn a shed load of money playing aerial ping pong, and ALL about a Right Wing Federal government trying to stick it to a Left Wing state legislature. Willy waving for an impending election.

Has ScoMo borrowed Pauline Hansen’s willy to wave because he’s unlikely to have one of his own to use after this?

This refugee boat was spotted of the Southern Coast of Straya…

Do you know who they are?
Are they in the main singles draw?

I was aware 3 were given exemptions.
Renata Voracova was tracked down and left of own accord (didn’t fight it).
One was reported to be an official - don’t know what happened to them.

Perhaps some were playing more minor tournaments, not AO?

Shit gets real…

Renata Voracova, good for her!

And

Okay walk on Waterovic might get off in Serbia.

This just gets more and more interesting.

Social media really does screw up a good old fashioned cover up when you are a bit too ā€˜look at me’ / careless

Channel 7 news crew on hot mic :slightly_smiling_face:

Just helps average Aus man and Woman to give Djok a hard time, do you think?

They left it until late on Friday so no chance to appeal etc until Monday.
The day the tournament starts.

I don’t think you can appeal the Ministerial right to cancel anyway + the grounds they’ve chosen make it difficult.
Can’t be said they rushed the decision either.

Let’s see.

Time will tell how this might affect immigration to other countries.

I wonder if Farage will actually explode

Probably as much as Australian model affected COVID response in other countries. In majority of Europe and the states the vaccination is not yet obligatory and the entrance can be secured through fresh PCR tests or recent infection.

There will be something good out of this, Australian mining company Rio Tinto will be disallowed to dig lithium on basis of menace to environment. Djokovic supported the eco protests against Rio Tinto a month ago and Serbian president announced this yesterday.

We can but hope. I’ll settle for second prize of him drowning in his own bile.

I’d love to see Australia’s own - Juice Media and their take on it all.
You can see their informative vids on YouTube.
They don’t pull their punches :slightly_smiling_face:

Pinched

Djok losses. 3 judge fed panel.

I watched some of it.

Djok’s lawyer spun that the minister didn’t properly consider the impact.
Sounded a right self righteous one tbh.
Could waffle for Aus!
Judges didn’t buy it, clear in some of their questions early on.
Gov lawyer came across as sensible grandad, putting the petulant child lawyer right.

Unanimous decision - he’s out

Appeal would be futile.

Sad day for tennis, that it had to grind through this mess.
Tennis Australia thought they could game the system or Politics changed on them and burned them. You decide.

I think the channel 7 hot mic clip really sealed it!

I think that everyone comes out of this badly. Djokovic could have just got fucking vaccinated. Tennis Australia didn’t do enough due diligence on the application. The Aus government has been rather vindictive.

Ultimately it’s his fault as he either faked a positive result, or didn’t act in accordance with it, but there’s no roses to smell here.
