Received a message from a colleague earlier:
“Yesterday I paid nearly 3 pounds to use the toilet, to do number 2,because Sainsbury’s only opens at 11:00 and there is no toilet on the other end, So I went to a coffee shop and they told me only for customers so I bought a coffee, to be able to use the toilet and at the end I didn’t drink because I don’t drink coffee

VDL. Learned a bit about this fascinating company this evening.
Not really so much about buses and coaches. I knew they had the former Volvo\Nedcar factory which at one point assembled BMW Mini…

We’ve been zooming around Manchester in buses (obvs) and it’s very noticeable that it’s different companies, more expensive than London, no daily cap, no hopper fare …
It looks like you can buy a one day pass for the BeeBus network, but to put it bluntly we’re used to things being a lot more joined up.
I thought that Andy Burnham was bringing the buses back into public ownership, but it evidently hasn’t happened yet. Is he just letting contracts expire as is happening with the railways?
Perfect for my routes.
