The AA Bus Stop

Good points raised; infrastructure is needed to support Milkfloats.

Who knew!

As it’s getting colder, we often get back to base with about 13%…

Not sure of individual stop buttons on the back of the chairs. I often have one or more bags on my lap as do many others and I can see them getting pressed all the time. It’s bad enough on the bus I use with people leaning on the lower level one in the wheelchair/buggy space.

Good point; I think this is to reduce the “forest of stanchions” which could be a bit nasty in a collision.

Grab handles on seats and seat mounted stop buttons seem to be their solution.

Passengers have given up trying to wind drivers up with constant campanology- this is by design- one ‘ring’ is heard in the cab. Subsequent rings sound only in the Passenger Saloon!

:sunglasses::ok_hand:

Mmm I get the risk of the stanchions and pleased for drivers they only get to hear the bell once. However on a full bus the grab handles aren’t available because the seat is occupied. Could lead to more falls etc.

From the horses mouth, so to speak…

Signed. It is disgraceful that you have to petition the public to achieve basic safe working conditions.

Today, I had a ‘Fact Finding Investigation’ which by any reasonable thinking was biased as fuck.

Apparently, the ink I use is “Water Based”.

No cunt bothered asking me; it was just an assumption. As was the threatening letter a few weeks ago.

After giving the cunt a damn good Meatman Style® bollocking about the lack of time to prepare myself and seek advice, I then asked the manager some questions.

Much to their apparent chagrin…

There was some resistance, but not for long.

I asked three questions:

  1. Are you an ink specialist?

  2. Did you hire an ink specialist to analyse my paperwork?

  3. Have you heard of Registrars Ink?

After some further resistance- I may have got a bit spicy- the ‘manager’ said no to all three.

They then changed the angle of attack, but I reminded them of the wording of the fucking paperwork which the useless cunt prepared only 25 minutes prior…

The other shit was dropped. The above wasn’t. Thank fuck I’m in the RMT now…

Thanks very much for your support, @peterh much appreciated! :sunglasses:

You have to put up withsome dreadful stuff. Plainly your “managers” have too much time on their hands. They could be doing something helpful like organising toilet facilities.

They’re trying my patience for sure. Funnily enough it started after I campaigned for a Meal Relief Facility.

I then went onto a different Rota where I was one of few cunts that did the job properly- reporting (the many) defects- some of which were dangerous.

It’s been going on since 2018.

Various forms of fuckwittery have caused lost mileage and red faces.

Because too much piss has been taken, I am no longer using my own telephone. We’re not provided with one.

Much of the above would have been avoided if TfL had invested money in the Radio Communications network.

Put simply, if there was an emergency this morning, I wouldn’t have been able to get through to anyone.

No more Mr Nice Guy.

It put here as this is a very popular engine used mostly in double decker Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 buses. I’ll ask about fuel consumption later. I’d guess 4-5mpg.

I’ve just seen our general manager. With the great leadership.

When asked how I am, I looked through him and said I’m alright, it’s the others.

When asked if I had completed the Staff Feedback thing, I said I can think of better things to do with my two minutes.

Not. A. Single. Fuck. Given. :raised_hands::raised_hands::raised_hands:

I can’t really post the photo, but the Garage Disciplinary Enquiry regarding Water Based Ink\ Unapproved Pen to complete paperwork has been dropped.

If only the Fact Finding Investigation held weeks ago- had given me the opportunity to run a completed Duty Log Card under a hot tap and some washing up liquid…

There’s a good reason why I use Registrar’s Ink.

I’ll keep the paperwork; frame it and put it in the fucking shit house. :sunglasses:

Mediation- my idea- will be fun!

Terms like “harassment” and “witch-hunt” keep coming to mind when I read this stuff!

All else aside, your endurance is remarkable. They REALLY don’t like whistleblowers, do they?

Yes. This. And during our ‘informal chat’ I said that the case- and I worded this very carefully- might give one the impression that there’s a toxic and hostile working environment complete with aggressive management practices.

All I’ve done is highlight H&S type shit:

Lack of Meal Relief Facilities- complete with workable solutions to remedy this.

Unsuitable Meal Relief Facility.

Carry out First Use Checks properly

Report defects found- on these and on the road- properly.

Escalate concerns about the above where incontrovertible evidence shows they’re being ignored\ disregarded

Highlight the lack of COVID 19 Security Measures- complete with workable solutions…

Report and highlight lack of ‘thermal comfort’ including getting TfL and Operator to admit there’s no Risk Assessment in place for Extreme Hot Weather Warnings.

Highlight the risk of fatigue with Rotas that do not appear to meet the needs of the humans driving the buses.

Assist colleagues that are being victimised.

Yeah. They fucking hate that sort of thing.

It’s crazy. Please do forgive me if I am a bit harsh on TfL…

On a lighter note; yesterday I experienced a significant sense of humour failure. So the following gesture- a gift from a regular- was rather lovely:

In general, I keep myself to myself, so this was a surprise.
