The all-new shiny cockpunch thread (Part 1)

Same should apply to Cornwall too.

Black Friday, “Black Week” :man_facepalming: etc. can have one. I’ve started mass-unsubscribing because of the absolute tsunami of mail.

Kudos to a few of the hipsters leading the backlash. Trunk Clothiers offer no discount, but 10% of all sales are donated to Crisis. And Freitag (the original upcyclers) are shut altogether.

A non apology from the odious cunt.

There’s audio on twiter where it’s fairly clear he said “shithole” and not “shit MP”

I think you can omit the word “called”.

Hope the cunt ends up destitute.

Indeed, BBC’s words not mine. Suspect BBC wouldn’t call him racist until found to be in a court of law.

Absolutely zero recognition of the damage he had done to himself…ah fuck it, he’s just a whiney cunt.

Just give them back and stop sulking like a fucking child.

He probably doesn’t want to be the one to do it, whatever he personally thinks.
But that is the Sunak way, if there is a choice between making a decision and dithering he will waffle and prevaricate

Fucking customs VAT (again) CP to HMRC

Bought some valves from germany on ebay

€115 + €10.5 postage + €25 VAT = £137 after exchange

RM tell me I need to pay VAT on them = £28 before they will deliver. Contact the seller and he confirms he put the value + VAT on the shipping note. Ebay were correct in collecting VAT as the sale was less than £135 total (£108)

Call RM and they say it’s nothing to do with them, customs charges are applied by HMRC on import so I say “yeah but it’s based on the info you give them, you wrongly told them it was valued over £135 and didn’t tell them I’ve already paid VAT”

Response from them is “take it up with HMRC, you have to ask them for a refund”

So that’s £50 VAT on something valued at £108 that I’m likely to never get back

I wonder how much HMRC is making on these small’ish transactions where it’s nigh on impossible to get the overpayment back. HMRC are certainly getting the benefit of these brexit sunlit uplands :rage:

CUNTS!!!

I’ve pretty much stopped buying anything from Europe because of this.

Meanwhile I have had another Modushop delivery through with no VAT either from Italy or the UK.

every time I’ve been nobbled or screwed for extra VAT it has been Royal Mail

I buy little from overseas, but automatically factor-in an extra 30% to the price of anything I may buy when doing the ‘man-maths’ calculation of “Is it worth it?”.

Occasionally I’m pleasantly surprised, more often, not.

Yay! Brexit Benefits!

Exactly this. Discogs = UK only :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Sadly, yes, although I have bought the odd new LP from Europe post-Brexit and somehow dodged the VAT. Usually delivered by courier though.

Pretty sure import VAT is calculated on item value + postage costs. Thanks for contributing to my Xmas bonus and 50 free 1st class stamps.
