The Allotment has nearly had a clean shave

Potatoes - All have recovered from the frost early last month and are looking fabulous and much better than last year in terms of yield.
We have planted lots of seeds mixed between
Rocket earlies (see image) Yeald after 30% harvested is averaging 500g per plant
Sharps express
Desiree
Pink fur apple
Kidney international

We are 30% through harvesting the Rocket and the yield is 500g per plant and 3kg seeds are looking to give in excess of 20kg of potatoes

The plants growing in the cracks between your patio slabs are nicer than the ones we have :slightly_frowning_face:.

Seriously, it looks fantastic. I take it your visitors are paying ones.

Inlaws came round for a drink in the garden, it was great to see them.

We did the same this afternoon, albeit in a back yard in West Norwood.

Yes, nice to see everyone again.

While you were mowing, a bird shat on your table (to be said in a Connery accent)

Get you ! Fine work sir.

Now sort that hedge out. It’s a bloody mess, I tell you!

It’s no astroturf, but a fine job :+1:

These roses have just started to sprout. Really vibrant colour, going to try and take some cuttings for next year.

Just call me the rose whisperer.

Just under 2kg - about 4lb. Need to get some potato bags, pronto!

First 5lb of blackberries picked, washed, bagged and into the freezer this afternoon. There seem to be a few more grubs this year, but this early in the season they’re teeny-tiny, so maybe I’ve just waited longer in the past and they’ve died of something else before I’ve picked the fruit.

The birds seem more interested in the berries this year. I don’t know if they have larger broods to feed and/or the drought is making other food sources scarcer ?
