Some Elderflower collected at the weekend for 5 bottles of cordial, we have a native one as well as a ‘Black Lace’ that overhangs from next door. I really like the latter as a specimen plant and we will eventually replace our native one with one of those in a year or so!
Our little one enjoyed collecting the flowers in her basket, both baskets were made by my Wife.
Our new Buddleja Globosa is growing well and just started to flower, the bees love it!
I was surprised to see this whilst having my wallet emptied at the garden centre.
A non climbing clematis. I have never heard of this before so of course I bought it.
I had to cut a load of my clematis down last week. It’s gone feral this year and was going to wreck the guttering. Was also trying its best to get in my bedroom window.

Q: Does Sweet William return each year? I don’t plan to be here next summer; the idea was to engineer a maintenance free Flowerbed:
Meanwhile some Wildflower Seed Units have produced results:
Jacobs Ladder. A cracker.
Red Valerian. Rare around here.
Sage Units flowering:
Good work Stu ![]()
Cheers @MJ2, very much a team effort; two other neighbours cleared and dug it over.
I did a tiny amount of digging over.
I did however install a few plants. The idea is to have colour all year round and also to keep bees and other pollinators happy! ![]()
*Edit: It was a Lockdown Project that the Estate Manager believed would be a “Flash in the pan”…
This tree in the back corner of our (pretty small) garden has basically sat there not doing much. Until this year.
This morning we visited this local garden which is just over the river. They’ve done a much better job than the outdated photos show, it’s really something else if you like tropical gardens or a big design around a running water pool.
One of my favourites has become this Daphne (Pink Fragrance) which has the most lovely scent, flowers at least twice a year for long periods and in the warm evening sun just divine
