De Havilland DC6 Twin Otter

Got fog bound in Alderney on a sailing trip and ran out of holiday.
Flew back to Eastliegh Airport on one of these.
Seated 12 or 16 passengers (can’t quite remember).
What I do remember was that Aurigny hostess did all the checks, made sure we were all wearing seat belts, wished us a pleasant flight and got off.

Soz mate, can’t help myself!

Had two old looking quite slow twin engined aorcraft fly over the golf course this morning’
I have been googling images and I think they were these

They definiteley had stripes toward the tail but due to sun etc it was very hard to see if there were stripes on the wings.

There was a third small aircraft with them but I was mainly looking at these, which were flying in formation

Dakota?

I think so.
They were heading roughly north to south. Not sure if the Eastbourne ‘Airbourne’ show is on as they were heading in that direction.

Edit. ‘Airbourne 2021’ has been cancelled

See MVAgusta’s earlier posting.
Headcorn Airshow
Apparently they flew over Heathfield earlier but I missed them owing to Mrs M wanting to buy alpines for the new rockery

Ah, the Shed! Spent a day with a BA crew about 25 years ago flying the islands routes out of Glasgow. The skipper, on hearing I was a whisky fan, rerouted slightly on the way back to show me as many distilleries on Islay & Campbeltown as he could manage!
The jump seat on the shed is not very comfortable though. Due to the bulkhead behind the two crew seats, the jumpseat is wedged to the left of the captain, and you end up with an adjustment wheel digging in to your thigh. Great trip though.
