Holds an SA80, the box behind it is a tool box, probably more useful even when it was in service
Terrible things.
This one held tyre levers, waterproofs and a ham and cheese roll.
Pfft, I really enjoyed mine as a novelty providing I didn’t have to go far or hadn’t left it too long between last using it, or if it was cold outside, or wet, or dry, or sunny. Otherwise worked flawlessly
I’m considering getting rid of the car so we become a one car household and then using a motorcycle for my commuting etc.
My current ‘commute’ is ten minute, but within the next six months I’m changing what I do and my commute will go to 30 minutes each way with some heavy traffic in between and mixed national speed limit and then in towns.
I have only been on 650cc street/naked type bikes up till now (excluding the MT350), so was thinking similar and something like a Honda, Suzuki etc for cheap servicing. But I haven’t been riding long and know very little about bikes tbh.
Practical option: Suzuki V-Strom 650
Less practical but more stylish: Kawasaki Z650RS
In true AA fashion either of these.
Failing that the Kawasaki Versys 650 could be a good allrounder.
Yamaha MT07 or something with a little character a Triumph trident
I’ll second the MT07.
Or
Looks underpowered
£22,000.00… thats a strong no
MT07 seems pretty decent and affordable
What do people do satnav wise? Not bother or just get a phone holder/case?
The Harley has a factory sat nav.
If you get a phone holder, make sure it’s waterproof.
“Drive straight ahead at 46mph for 140 miles.”
I use a garmin XT. Its ok if you just want to pop in a destination and get a route, less so for planning.
Phones work ok but the newer phone cameres can be damaged by vibration.
The Beeline seem a simple and convenient way of getting sat nav on your bike.
Failing that a quad lock mount with the dampening attachment.
Someone I know has ordered a new NT1100, that comes with Apple and Android connectivity, getting more and more common on bikes now.
I use a Garmin Zumo XT with a Touratach lockable mount which is wired in to a switched 12v supply, works well and I can leave the unit on the bike.
Alot mobiles are now water resistant to a point, use a Quadlock with the specific case and the suspension to protect the camera, they work well.
Im seriously considering DMD2 on a Thork tablet as a replacement for the Garmin.
Ive been trialing it on my phone, its an excellent dash with access to your nav app of choice but additionally can work with gpx files.
That looks good, will have a look at that.
