I imagine Alli may be nervous about his place!

He should be.

Why isn’t this dispute covered by insurance? Was he really travelling not insured by either club?

Certainly not afraid to make changes.

The club had general insurance to cover the team to a value of £15 mil.

Once you add wages on the total package for Sala comes to £23mil or suchlike.

A specific policy for Sala wasn’t in place, therefore there is a shortfall.

The flight he was killed on was arranged by the agent who was employed by Nantes. The flight was effectively illegal as it was not a commercial plane and the pilot was a gas fitter not licensed to carry passengers and was not qualified to fly using ā€œinstrumentsā€ which was required given the weather and it was at night. Plus the agent has admitted making misrepresentations in the negotiations which one could argue make the contract entirely void.

I’m paraphrasing here but the above is broadly correct. It’s business. It’s not nice buy why should Cardiff carry the entire loss when Nantes legal agent arranged a shit flight.

Is stones crocked atm?

Don’t know but he’s not on the bench

Yes. Pep didn’t want him to play as he has been out for a while.

I thought the entire issue revolves around the fact that Sala was not registered to play with Cardiff. His original contract wasn’t cleared because of third party payment issues so UEFA did not issue international clearance. This had, it is alleged, been resolved but Sala had not signed the new contract and so was a Nantes player free to sign for anyone when the plane went down.

Details are here IIRC:
