Hmmmm…wasting lecky by leaving the lights on - can you really be trusted to save the environment…
That’s not my job, that’s for reformed petrol sniffer and all round environmental champion @SAP7
Ignore me mate - that was my inner green-eyed monster talking
Its err, very black so maybe a pic in the daylight would be better!
Several pics would be nice
looks great! black edition for the win
I’ve driven it for all of about 2 mins to park it after it was dropped off, and then spent 15 mins fucking about with various menu settings before having to scamper back into the office. So hopefully get a chance to get a longer spin tomorrow and take some better pics.
Welcome to the fold.
My child.
(Not sure I’m a raging environmentalist, I just love the idea of a fume free city).
As I’m driving down the M40, I have noticed how cars around me stink.
Lesson number one today - having a warm car in cold weather costs range miles
Never mind a warm car.
The upside is that once the weather gets warmer, the range will improve. And then you get to calculate a new gamble on whether you can get to your destination all over again.
Fun fun fun !
Preconditioning is your friend
It costs petrol too but people never seemed to worry about it.
I forgot my charge cable for my plug in hybrid on a recent trip so was using it as a simple hybrid.
I left the fuel consumption readout on and the fuel consumption was almost double the average for the first 5 to 10 miles while the cabin and engine warmed up.
A lot of EVs allow the cabin and batteries to warm up whilst plugged into the mains, mind you I will only need the full range a couple of times per year so not a worry for me.
The biggest benefit for me is simply the electric motor’s characteristic.
I hadn’t given it much thought before but was surprised how much better an electric motor is for a car than an IC engine.
One great thing is waking up to a pretty full fuel tank every morning anyway, even with the PI hybrid I have has only needed 3 or 4 visits to a petrol station a year, which is brilliant.
Seat warmers are advised in the Tesla as opposed to heating the whole car up.
The death trap has cabin preheat functions, once the fans get up to speed it sounds like a high powered vacuum running on the drive. It is fully audible inside our house so will be in our neighbour’s, far from ideal when I’m up early for work.
Range still 20 to 25%% down. So using our ICE car for all longish journeys at the moment, which is frustrating considering the fuel prices.
My death trap is also as loud, but I have no shame if it’s after 7 and preheat while it’s plugged in to save battery/range.
Just need a house with a stupidly long drive and a charger half way along.
