The Mince Pie Thread

Fair enough, but I’d take a nice brew of Assam any day

I had the cheese board at the cinema down the road. It came with two mini mince pies, one for me and the other for me.

What is the reason for this? Why would convection be superior? Is it something to do with how the water penetrates the leaves?

I assume there’s a huge difference between the dust you get in teabags and a tea that has recognisable foliage, in the brewing treatment appropriate to each?

You all seem to have the ideal recipe for piss weak little-girls frilly milksop pantywaist tea!

Bag, in mug - mash that fucker to within an inch of its life, milk, sugar, joy. Repeat.

Fail. No sugar in tea or coffee, ever.

Most of the country has gone to the dogs. The are still bastions of humanity, such as the Odyssey cinema. Where you get a swivel chair, a table between the two of you, and a bar at the back where you can get another drink without missing any of the film.

one of our favourite places for a night out in St Albans - although we haven’t been in ages!

I honestly hadn’t thought about looks :grinning:

Mince Pies on the counter at Café Rore where the boss and I go for morning coffee on campus.

They looked unbaked, nasty pale and insipid - but the lady from Food Hertfordshire, wasn’t impressed when I asked her when the mince pies were going to be baked! Although it didn’t stop her from giving me my usual freebie extra shot of espresso in my iced coffee.

Iced coffee? It’s December man!
