The police should’ve let him write his message and hold it up. Then the beeb could’ve shown him getting beaten to death by an angry mob of retired majors and blue-rinsed old biddies, to the tune of Land of hope and glory. Would’ve been brilliant.

He had no intention of writing a message. His intention was to prove that our police are just extensions of the state, exactly as they are in Russia.
For anyone with a brain, he succeeded.

Exactly.
This is deeply concerning. I don’t understand why the country is so passive about shit like this. Actual police officers behaving like unthinking automatons, laying down their own version of the law and proscribing our right to peaceful protest.
What the hell is everyone on? A nation drunk on the Royal koolaid is the saddest thing about this whole affair.

I think a lot of people are schtum simply because regardless of your feelings toward the Monarchy turning up to a place of public mourning and grief to:
Make a point / Challenge / offer opposition / Rebel against / Voice Disgust / Anger / and or frustration
Is somewhat of a self centered and selfish dick move.

Wrote a long post but thought better of it, short version:
From press articles three arrests have been made in total over Scotland and England. Breach of peace and public order. No one has been arrested for holding up blank paper.
We’re in an echo chamber mate, where the facts are ignored if they dont fit the agenda.

If Corbyn was PM he’d never allow this to happen.
I look forward to my probable 14 hour shift on Monday so I can oppress as many of the masses as possible
