I think somewhere along the line someone needs to try some in an Uuni…

I did make some a while back using Jus-Rol sheet pastry but I’m not convinced by the taste of Jus-Rol. May need to adopt a more hardline faff position & spend days making my own puff pastry.

Also try an Ooni as well

The place in Seville was run by Portuguese making them from scratch,

although the same can be said for the Lisbon bakery in Plymouth

If I recall though, in Lisbon there are two types.

Pasteis de Belem (and a visit to that bakery while visiting Lisbon should be obligatory)

and Pasteis de Nata.

Not sure what if any difference there is but it gives an excuse to sample many different places.

Guessing they don’t use Jus-Rol in Belem

Best ones I ever had were in Lisbon Airport, before they were famous.

I used to go to Porto a lot and the little coffee bar in the airport arrivals hall had superb ones. :+1:

Yep, I remember coming back and raving about them, and within a few months they were everywhere.

I’m not saying I made them famous… But… You know…
