Just landed in Madrid, first work trip overseas for 3 or 4 years.

The queue for none EU visitors to get through passport control is fucking enormous, of course the electronic EU gates are practically free flowing.

Spain could join the shared passport data agreement that we have with Germany, Netherlands and others. That would solve the problem.

In the meantime, enjoy the Brexit bonus, it’s free👍

Same in France and Portugal for me recently.
I understood that it is because of the 180 day residency rules.
If your passport isn’t stamped in and out they don’t know how long you have been in the country.
