Might have a chat with the Heritage Collections team at work, although suspect a bit too risky.
They do have this excellent Grayson Perry piece though tucked away on the Cttee Room floor in Portcullis House. It is in a public area although is terribly lit.
I’d been to California a few times before I was finally earthquaked. It was a small one - Richter 5.4 - popped a few supermarket windows and toppled stuff off their shelves. I thought it would be exciting and exhilerating. It wasn’t. It was just very frightening. I was asleep on the 7th or 8th floor of a hotel and sharing the room with a colleague who’d lived in CA most of his life. I asked him if we should run from the building. He said no. If this was the big one then we wouldn’t get down the stairs in time. If it wasn’t then there was no need to get out of bed. Go back to sleep. There were even smaller aftershocks the next day when we were in the hotel basement, where the meeting rooms were. Those shut everyone up for half a minute.
